A Re-cap of 2018: YouTube Revival

Consistent content is what keeps viewership interested and subscriptions growing, so say the YouTube gurus. The year 2018 (let's just forget 2017 ever happened) was the year I ramped up my YouTube content including the introduction of weekly live streaming shows. I also had intentions of growing a subscription base on Patreon with a few lofty goals pending the needed pledge amounts. Then life got in the way and I was unable to effectively promote and accumulate a Patronage and only created a handful of YouTube videos for the entire  year. That's not to say Clary Jaxon wasn't making efforts in engaging with the general public and sharing the results with YouTube viewers. I embarked on the maiden voyage of "Ask the Public" and took to the streets with a camera and list of awkward but important questions. Later on in the year,
Patreon blew up as a result of the confusing Sargon of Akkad affair and alas I was left with zero Patrons and a sense of relief it became a platform that I would no longer have to manage due to the mass exodus. I am a one-woman show and having to manage multiple platforms is just not efficient use of my time.

Yes, I deleted my Patreon, too.

I already have my own donation gateway here on this website which has thus far attracted a (very) small membership base and to be quite honest I'm fine with managing and driving potential donor traffic just to one place.

2019 is the year I ramp up my branding and hopefully a cohesive content and sustainability strategy that continues with the purpose of informing the public and comparing their perceptions against what the media and hysteria dictates. I've started a merchandise store on Teespring with provocative slogans and also started recommending relevant books (that I've actually read) through Amazon affiliate links. I will be happy once supporter donations reach enough just to pay my internet bill. But I'm not at that first milestone yet, hence the creation of multiple income funnels.

My short term goal for 2019 is to reach 1,000 YouTube subscribers and 4,000 watch hours so that basic monetization features become available to my channel to help sustain my content creation and visibility efforts.

As for subscriber engagement, I continue to receive messages through this website and through YouTube from a variety of people who contact me for a variety of different reasons. Each time I receive one of these messages I am inspired, encouraged and reminded that my efforts don't go unnoticed or wasted into the ethernet.  It fills up my gas tank, so to speak, so I can make the next video.

Below is an archive of the YouTube videos I created in 2018. Enjoy. By the way, if you haven't already please do subscribe to my YouTube channel!
